- Educational background:
I am in the final year of my PhD in Sport Sociology as part of VU's Institute of Health & Sport. My research is based on the impact of the social legacy of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 on the lived experiences of women, girls and gender diverse people in football in Victoria. Prior to this I have completed a Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion) (Honours) and Graduate Certificate in Community Sport Management and have worked across these fields for ten years. - Key skills or expertise:
My skills and expertise include project management, strategic thinking, community consultation, stakeholder engagement, capacity building and evaluation. I also enjoy teaching, coaching and working as part of a team. - Personal connection to the mission: Having been involved in tertiary study for almost ten years through a range of modalities - including living and studying on res, studying via external means online from interstate (before covid) and more recently commuting a number of hours to study on campus, I am passionate about ensuring all postgrad students from all modes of study are given a voice and provided opportunities to enhance their student experience despite the barriers they may come up against.
- Two hobbies or fun fact: 1. I live on the surf coast and love playing, coaching and watching soccer, afl and surfing. 2. I love travelling and have my sights set on Korea, Mongolia and Argentina for my next few trips.
